How to sell your car in Barbados
By E-Biz Vehicle Services ·
Selling privately usually gets you a better price than trading in, provided the listing is honest, the vehicle is presented properly and enquiries are handled safely. Here is how to do it without giving your phone number to the whole island.
Prepare the vehicle first
Clean it thoroughly inside and out, fix the small annoyances — a blown bulb, a worn wiper, a warning light — and gather your service records. Buyers price risk, so anything that reduces perceived risk raises what they will pay.
Price it against real listings
Look at what comparable vehicles are actually advertised for on the marketplace, then adjust for mileage, condition and history. An over-priced listing goes stale, and a stale listing eventually sells for less than a realistic one would have.
Write a listing that answers questions
State the year, mileage, transmission, fuel type, service position and anything that needs attention. Photograph the car in even light: front three-quarter, rear three-quarter, both sides, interior, dashboard with the odometer visible, engine bay and tyres.
Keep your details private
On E-Biz Vehicle Services, private sellers' names, numbers and email addresses are never published. Enquiries come to E-Biz, we confirm the buyer is genuine, and viewings and test drives are arranged and logged on your behalf.
What it costs
Listing a private vehicle is free. A success commission is only payable when the vehicle sells to a buyer introduced through E-Biz; the current rate is published on the Private Seller Fees page.
